Waking Up to Surrender - Oprah's Master Class

It was 5 am, just less than an hour ago... I was in the middle of finishing some OT work when I took a peek at facebook/sucessnation and saw this video of Oprah sharing her amazing insight into her life.

All these years, I was learning and preaching (in my own little way) how you can get what you want in your life, and here was my idol, Oprah, explaining why you can't get what you want in life:

"God can dream a bigger dream for me, for you, than you can ever do for yourself.

When you have worked as hard and done as much and strived and tried and given and plead and bargained and hoped.......Surrender.... When you have done all that you can do, and there is nothing left for you to do. Give it up. Give it up to that thing that is greater than yourself and let it then become a part of the flow."

As I was listening to her speak, tears slowly ran down my cheeks... in a million different ways that I can't seem to put into words right now, with memories of hardships and struggles from when I was a child, all through my early adulthood bombarding my mind in lightning speed, I can relate to what she's saying. I'm sharing this video here because I know that when you watch this 10-minute segment of her Master Class "Surrender", it will touch a chord in you which I'm hoping will inspire you or wake you up from whatever slump you may be in.

On a lighter note, I was contemplating on taking a nap before continuing with my work. But this short Oprah video woke me up. And I started thinking that until I have given everything I can to the things that I am busy with now, and still nothing is happening, then I'd surrender and give up to that thing that is greater than myself. After all, this blog started with that goal in mind, which is to emulate my ultimate idol, Oprah Winfrey --- ”It is possible for you to do whatever you choose, if you first get to know who you are and are willing to work with a power that is greater than ourselves to do it.”
